Dialysis!

Ok so yesterday i got to spend a day in the diaylsis unit!
(Being a budding nephrologist thats the coolest thing in the world)
Interesting pathology:
Hereditary Chronic Kidney Disease (not polycystic)
Fibrillary Glomerulonephritis

the patient with hereditary CKD was only in her 40s and had a half sister who was on dialysis as well and her father died from renal failure. She had a failed transplant after 8 years so she was back on dialysis. The worst part was her sister who had gotten a kidney from her daughter! Of course that failed in a year! (OMG! who in the world would be that stupid!)

I dont know the exact cause of her CKD.. i dont think my attending knew exactly either.. and firillary GN.. never heard of it b4.. guess i gotta look it up.
